Iaorana te Otea

End of Navigation

Iaorana te Otea, Tahitian for "greetings from the drum beats", was founded in 1990 by a group of students here at UCSB. Since then, this student organization has celebrated the dynamic cultures of the Polynesian Islands. The club is multi-cultural and diverse, with members coming from different backgrounds, varying in experience. Our purpose is to educate ourselves and our community about Polynesian culture as well as provide insight to those who are unfamiliar with this culture, and most of all, to enjoy our music and dance.
