A Sampling of Courses that Explore Diversity
End of Navigation
Several major departments and programs offer courses that explore a wide variety of issues related to cultural differences and diversity. Some of these departments may be obvious, such as Black Studies, and Chicano Studies. However, other departments offer courses that explore diversity issues including English, History, Religious Studies, Sociology, and Women's Studies. For example, a class titled "Global Diasporas and Cultural Change" (Global Studies 104) focuses in part on interactions between immigrant/ethnic cultures and the dominant cultures of the host societies. Check with specific departments and the General Catalog for descriptions of classes that focus on cultural differences and diversity. Please note that you must check with the General Catalog to determine whether these courses satisfy the Ethnicity or World Culture requirements, and to determine whether there are any prerequisites.
